| Ellie Mae was my first whippet, and forever cemented my love for the breed. She was perfect because she was game to do anything and was “idiot proof” - she easily withstood the inexperienced bumbling of her newbie owner as we learned about all the fun things a whippet and her owner can do together. Ellie Mae particularly excelled in lure coursing, and earned her Field Championship title in very short order. Ellie Mae and I logged many miles traveling to lure trials and race meets during her heyday. Her enthusiasm is infectious and, although she’s retired from the organized events now, she excels in the role of puppy trainer.
